SUMMER KNIGHT

Junior Faculty Advisor

Born and raised in Deltona, Florida, they are currently double majoring in Marine Science and Ecology at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. When not immersed in academic pursuits, they can be found honing their skills with their competitive dance and Colorguard team. Despite their busy schedule, they also enjoy reading books, painting and crocheting and is part of Kappa Alpha Omicron honors society and the Environment sustainability LLC. She is super excited to be part of the summit again after attending as a candidate in 2022, and hopes to make an impact and have fun!

Jadynn Doyle

JADYNN DOYLE

Jadynn Doyle is a freshman at Fort Hays State University in Hays, KS and attended WYSE as a delegate in 2022 ! She is passionate about conservation and sustainable energy. She is majoring in Biology-Natural Resources with a minor in Spanish Language and obtaining a certificate in Sustainability. Jadynn is currently still working with Conservation Nation on a research project over food waste in America. At FHSU, she is active in the Biology Club and Women in STEM club. In her free time she has been recycling paper by making new paper with it. She is excited to meet everyone, and see some familiar faces again!

Cal is a rising junior at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is pursuing a degree in
political science and a degree in public policy. After graduation his career goal is to
work in international politics and hopefully be an ambassador or some other form of representative. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, theater, and magic the gathering. He attended WYSE in the summer of 2021 and had a fantastic experience. As a JFA, he hopes to help the event run smoothly so that other people can have that great
experience.

SEAN "CAL" FOSS

Cal is a rising junior at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is pursuing a degree in political science and a degree in public policy. After graduation his career goal is to work in international politics and hopefully be an ambassador or some other form of representative. Lily Shriner

LILY SHRINER

Lily Shriner is a rising sophomore at the College of William and Mary and attended WYSE as a delegate in 2022. After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology and marine science, Lily aspires to become a wildlife biologist and work towards conserving marshland and coastal species. In her free time, Lily loves to hike, go kayaking, read, and play the drums. As a JFA, she hopes to provide the amazing and organized experience she had during WYSE and help find new interests in the environment and conservation!

Jacob is a rising Sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park,

He is a member of the American Meteorological Society, a paid employee of the Maryland Hydronet, and an intern for the Climate Resilience Network. This is the third summer he’s been involved with WYSE: one as a Delegate, one as an intern, and now as a JFA!

Gia is a senior at Nova Southeastern University, where she is pursuing a degree in Marine Science with minors in Marine Ecology and Pre-Health. Originally from New Jersey, she is passionate about ocean ecosystems, conservation, and environmental education. Her experience at the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment helped inspire her passion for environmental science and sustainability. Her academic interests focus specifically on deep-sea environments, including the unique adaptations of organisms, extreme conditions, and ecological processes. She hopes to pursue a career with the NOAA Corps, where she can contribute to oceanographic research and environmental monitoring. Outside of academics, she enjoys exploring coastal environments, going to the theater, and spending time with her cat.

Lukas is a junior at Austin Peay State University working towards a bachelors in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. He is working towards becoming a wildlife biologist, with an internist in animal behavior and conservation. Outside of school, Lukas volunteers at a wildlife rehabilitation center and takes care of his many pets. He attended WYSE during the summer of 2023 and was a JFA in the summer of 2025. He is very excited to return!

JULIUS RODRIGUEZ

Julius R. Rodriguez is a clinical psychology senior at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, with a background in positive psychology and comparative animal behavior. His passion lies in finding physiological, observable data to support primarily mentalistic clinical and cognitive theories. He currently leads research on how optimism can moderate body image issues and how self-objectification, measured through eye-tracking, may be reduced in romantic relationships through admiration-based interventions that promote positive body image. He’s also studied sexual harassment in fish, deep-sea conservation, and sustainable college practice (recycling, gardening, pollinating, etc). He’s worked with psychologists, zoologists, conservation biologists, and park rangers, hosted sustainability and deep-sea education seminars, and spends most of his free time traveling to aquariums. At Rollins, he blends psychology and sustainability as Sustainability Senator, and as a WYSE 2023 alum, he’s excited to return and help students explore where behavior and the environment intersec

Maddie Weller

Madeline is an Environmental Science undergraduate at Georgia Tech, pursuing a
minor in Energy Systems and a Sustainable Business Certificate. She works with
the Tang Research Group, exploring rare earth element transformations for clean
energy applications. Madeline also contributes to methane emissions research
through Georgia Tech’s Methane Project team and was part of the first-place
Plastathon team developing a plastic-reduction app. She enjoys reading, hiking,
and photography. She uses visual storytelling to advocate for environmental
awareness and inspire curiosity through creativity and science.

Gabby is from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and is an upcoming junior at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she studies Environmental Studies, Political Science, and Public Policy. After attending the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in 2023, she left inspired to pursue environmental conservation through Policy. At UW–Madison, she has continued to explore how policy can drive solutions to environmental challenges.

Outside the classroom, Gabby enjoys aviation, reading, collecting old maps, and getting outdoors whenever she can. As a Junior Faculty Advisor, she is excited to help students dive into the WYSE experience, challenge their perspectives, and discover their own path in protecting the environment.

Gabby is from Oshkosh, Wisconsin and is a sophomore at UW-Madison majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies with a minor in Public Policy. When she attended WYSE, she found a passion for environmental sustainability though the lense of government with policy regulations. She has experience in both sustainability and government. A fun fact about Gabby is that she is horrified of
camels and will be avoiding them at any zoo. She looks forward to meeting the Delegates at this year’s Summit!
