Tolani Taylor is a senior at Willingboro High School in Willingboro, New Jersey. She is involved in a variety of activities at school including the debate team, community service club, Math National Honor Society, soccer, and plenty of others. She loves to read, travel, and spend time with family and friends and has an unconditional love for environmental science. Tolani has been researching environmental issues in the world as well as alternatives that could be used to combat climate change throughout her life. Her attendance at WYSE 2016 elevated her passion towards the environment because it opened up her eyes to how resolving environmental issues are intertwined with so many other factors. During her time at WYSE, she met some incredible people from all over the country and was exposed to a variety of fields within environmental science, such as microbiology, geology, and hydrology. Tolani is on a mission to make a difference in this world as an environmentalist and being a part of the WYSE 2017 Youth Advisory Board plays an integral part in her journey.

Jade Sweeney

Jade is a junior at White Oak High School in Jacksonville, NC, where she is a member of Student2Student, Interact, Tri-M, and as Secretary of Green Team. She is also a leader for the White Oak Marching Vikings where she plays clarinet. Last year she was a member of the pit orchestra for White Oak’s musical production of “The Addams Family”. Outside of school she volunteers with Jacksonville Youth Council, H.A.R.M.O.N.Y and her community’s Christmas Cheer program. Jade is set to graduate in 2018 and hopes to pursue a degree in engineering. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, learning new instruments and spending time with her friends.

Andrew Nestor

Andrew is a previous attendee and intern for the WYSE conference from West Chester, Pennsylvania, but is currently a freshman attending the University of Delaware, majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Journalism. He previously graduated from a small private high school for kids with social and mental disabilities and worked as a teacher’s assistant in many capacities helping to work with high schoolers and middle schoolers. Andrew is a member of the National Honors Society and has held a job working in customer service in his hometown since his junior year of high school.

Grace Loonam is a member of the class of 2018 at West Boca High School in Boca Raton, Florida. She attended the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in the summer of 2016. She has always been passionate about the environment and is very grateful for the opportunity to broaden her knowledge through WYSE. Grace is excited to return the program this year as a member of the Advisory Board and looks forward to making the experience as memorable for future delegates as it was for her. Her environmental interests primarily include conservation and sustainability. Grace loves being outdoors. In the past, she participated in the Recycling Club at her school as well as a few beach cleanups.

Tiffany Lin

Tiffany Lin is currently a sophomore attending the Beacon High School in New York City, New York. After winning 1st place in the New York State eCybermission science competition, she was selected as a delegate to attend the George Mason Washington Youth Summit on the Environment in 2016. She has also presented at the American Natural History Museum Science Expo. Her love for the environment originated from her passion to sail. She is an avid dingy sailor and is certified by the American Sailing Association and U.S. Sailing Basic Keelboat. She is a junior instructor, as well as a sales and marketing assistant at the Offshore Sailing School. Tiffany was a youth delegate for the America’s Cup Youth Endeavor Daythe first time it was held in the United States. She is an elite “A” student who has been on principal’s honor roll and an executive board member of the National Junior Honor Society. Tiffany is also a starting fullback on her travel soccer team, G17 White Downtown United Soccer Club, and her high school varsity soccer team, a five-time New York City PSAL champion. In addition, she is an accomplished mezzo-soprano with the Trinity Wall Street Youth Chorus. Led by Julian Wachner, a Grammy-nominated conductor and one of North America’s top composers, her chorus has performed at Carnegie Hall and sang with Josh Groban at the Mayor Bloomberg 9/11 Memorial Benefit Dinner, hosted by Stephen Colbert. Her choir will be on tour this summer in San Francisco and in Paris.

Diana LaFollette is a senior in high school in Niceville, Florida. She loves to learn and is very active in her school as Yearbook Editor-In-Chief, Key Club Secretary, and as a Varsity athlete in both track and cross-country. She has had a passion for the environment since she was a young child and hopes to change the world one day by improving alternative energy sources. WYSE was a truly life-changing experience for her, as it redirected her career path, and she looks forward to continuing involvement in the WYSE program.

Emma Johnston

Emma Johnston is a sophomore at Manatee High School in Bradenton, Florida. She attended WYSE in the summer of 2016 and had one of the best experiences of her life. She was provided with insight about the environment and was introduced to a community of people who shared her passion for the environment. Emma learned and laughed so much during the summit and is so thankful for all of her newfound WYSE experiences. She loves science, especially biology and environmental science. She is a part of her high school’s marching band and drumline and is currently an active member in Key Club, a student-led volunteer organization. She is also in Mu Alpha Theta, a math honor society and tutoring program, and Science National Honor Society. Emma is very excited to contribute to the WYSE advisory board this year!

Eva Humphreys is a senior honors student at Jefferson-Morgan Jr./Sr. High School in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. She spends her time doing many after-school activities, including marching band, envirothon, Science Olympiad, drama club, and National Honor Society. In her free time, Eva plays instruments, writes, and spends time with loved ones. She plans to study Marine Biology or Zoology after graduation.
